Rose
Rose is not one smell. Turkish rose is jammy and dense, Bulgarian is fresher and more lemony, and a modern rose can be rendered metallic, spiced or almost savoury. The rose you dislike is usually not the rose in the bottle.
What rose is
Rose absolute and rose otto are extracted differently from the same flower and smell markedly different — otto brighter and waxier, absolute deeper and sweeter.
