Bergamot
Bergamot opens an enormous proportion of all perfumery, which is why so many fragrances smell briefly alike. It is bright and slightly bitter, and it is gone within twenty minutes — so judging a scent on its bergamot is judging the wrong part.
What bergamot is
Cold-pressed from the rind of a citrus grown almost entirely in Calabria. It is also what makes Earl Grey tea smell like Earl Grey.
